Privacy policy.

An initiative that teaches data governance should be exemplary about its own. Here is precisely what we collect, why, and what we do not do.

Data controller

Personal data collected in connection with HaitiSIG and the Haiti IGF 2026 is processed by the organising committee of the initiative, reachable at info@fgi.org.ht.

What this site does not do

  • No cookie is placed on your device.
  • No audience measurement or advertising tracking tool is used.
  • No social media widget capable of tracking you is embedded.
  • No data is sold, rented or transferred to third parties for commercial purposes.

The site loads fonts from a third-party service (Google Fonts). This transmits your IP address to that service. A self-hosted version of the fonts is planned in order to remove this dependency.

Data collected

Application and contact forms

We collect what you enter: name, email address, organisation, stakeholder group, preferred hub, intended form of participation, accessibility needs and the content of your message.

Purposes — to assess applications, organise participation, answer enquiries, plan accessibility arrangements, and provide information about the current edition.

Basis — your voluntary act of applying or getting in touch.

Participation data

During the events we collect attendance data, knowledge assessments and satisfaction survey responses.

Purposes — issuing certificates of participation and evaluating the impact of the initiative.

Published statistics

Participation data published in reports (breakdown by gender, stakeholder group, hub and age bracket) is aggregated only. It does not allow any individual to be identified.

Technical logs

The site host keeps technical connection logs (IP address, timestamp, page requested) for security and availability purposes. These logs are not used for audience analysis.

Recipients

Data is accessible only to those organising committee members who need it for the purposes described, and to strictly necessary technical providers (site hosting, email service, session broadcast platform). No transfer is made for any other purpose.

Retention periods

  • Unsuccessful applications — twelve months after the close of the edition, then deleted.
  • Participant records — three years, to allow a certificate to be reissued and the alumni network to be maintained.
  • Contact messages — twenty-four months.
  • Aggregated and anonymised data — kept without time limit.
  • Information list — until you unsubscribe, which is possible at any time.

Your rights

You may at any time request access to your data, its correction or deletion, or object to its use. Write to info@fgi.org.ht stating your request. You will receive a reply within a maximum of thirty days.

Deleting your data may prevent your application from being processed or a certificate from being issued; you will be told before any permanent deletion.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS only. Access to application data is restricted to the committee members who need it. In the event of a data breach likely to create a risk for the people concerned, they will be informed as soon as possible.

Photographs and recordings

Photographs and recordings are made during the events for documentation and non-commercial communication. You may object on site with the organising team, or ask for content featuring you to be removed by writing to info@fgi.org.ht.

This policy will be updated once the final technical providers (form platform, broadcast service, hosting) have been selected. The date of the last update appears below.
