Accessibility and inclusion.

A national programme is inclusive only if the means are put behind it. This page sets out our concrete commitments, what we measure, and what we cannot yet guarantee.

Participation

Our commitments

The organisers are committed to supporting the participation of women, young people, people with disabilities, regions far from the capital, and groups under-represented in the digital sector.

  • Gender parity target in the selection of participants and speakers
  • Distribution of places across the five hubs, with a quota reserved for the regions
  • Collection of accessibility needs from the application form onwards
  • Hybrid format designed to reduce geographic and cost barriers
  • Accessible digital documents, readable on a mobile phone
  • Captioning and interpretation where resources allow
  • Use of Haitian Creole in facilitation and discussion
  • Collection and publication of disaggregated participation data
  • A code of conduct with a confidential reporting mechanism

What we do not yet guarantee

Sign language interpretation, real-time captioning of every session and full physical accessibility of each hub depend on the resources mobilised and the venues finally selected. These points will be specified site by site before registration opens. We would rather say so than promise by default.

Flagging a need

State your accessibility needs in the application form, or write directly to info@fgi.org.ht. Requests are handled confidentially.

The earlier a request is made, the more likely it is to be met: some adjustments require resources to be reserved in advance.

Statement about this site

This site is designed to target level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. No external audit has been carried out yet: the conformance stated here results from internal checks.

Measures implemented

  • Semantic structure and consistent heading hierarchy
  • Skip link to the main content
  • Full keyboard navigation, with a visible focus indicator
  • Colour contrast meeting level AA
  • Text resizable without loss of information
  • Site fully usable without JavaScript
  • Support for dark mode and increased contrast
  • Respect for the "reduced motion" preference
  • Tables readable on small screens
  • Lightweight pages, designed for slow connections

Known limitations

  • PDF documents published by third parties are not systematically tagged for screen readers.
  • Video content broadcast during the events will not all be captioned live.
  • Fonts are loaded from an external service; if it is unavailable, an equivalent system font is used.
  • No independent accessibility audit has been conducted yet.
